Increasing treatment capacity for residual waste was one of the focus areas for the company and in 2016, SUEZ commissioned three new energy-from-waste facilities, handling a further one million tonnes of residual waste. In light of the rapidly decreasing number of landfills, residual waste treatment capacity is a critical area for development in Britain.
